Robert Louis Stevenson - Letters and Miscellanies: In the South Seas and A Foot-Note to History
New York: Charles Scribner, 1907. Later edition (first published in 1891). Hardcover. 591 pp. Red cloth binding with gilt lettering. Dark topstain. 8vo. Good condition. Covers rubbed. Front hinge repaired. I'm not sure if this one came with a dust jacket--it probably didn't (and everyone agrees that old-timey looking books look better without a jacket anyway, right?) but either way it doesn't have one now.
The 'Letters and Miscellanies' refers to the fact that the two works herein contained were commissioned by "The Black and White" (defunct magazine) and The New York Sun, respectively, as works of travel journalism to be published as letters in a serial fashion.
