William S. Phillips and Edwards Park - The Glory of Flight
Greenwich Workshop, 1994. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. 4to. Red cloth binding with gilt details. 172 pp. Illustrated with color plates. Printed in Italy. Alkaline pages. Introduction by Stephen Coonts. Near fine condition. Immaculate boards and pages. Dust jacket has a tiny tear at the head of the spine but is otherwise like new.
The book is inscribed by author/artist (William S. Phillips) on the flyleaf. There is, in addition, a polaroid photo of artist William S. Phillips posing with the former owners of the book, also signed by Phillips, tucked in along with a second photograph depicting Phillips signing the book (i.e. writing the aforementioned flyleaf inscription). Finally, there is an original signed drawing (8" x 10") by Phillips included. The former owner of the book in question (now deceased) had amassed a collection of more than 10,000 books--all relating to military aviation--and was a personal friend of the artist.
