Wear to the perimeter of outer boards. Rubbing, scratching, creasing, toning, dings, bunching, fraying, and areas of discoloration to all faces of the outer/inner boards. The previous owner’s bookplate is pasted to the front, inner board. Extensive toning, discoloration, staining, scratching, chipping, and foxing to inner boards, pages of the text, endpapers, and the text-block edge. The previous owner stamp to the title page (in purple ink which has been lined through with pencil). Previous owner inscription (in pencil) to the lower edge of the aforementioned page. Fragile pages. Worn inner hinges. Pencil annotation and underlines throughout. An unprepossessing copy of the classic work.
