Most likely this is a later printing of the first edition (lacking, as it does, the photographic caption on rear panel, copyright statement, and white cloth boards characterizing the first edition; the book club edition hypothesis meanwhile seems unlikely since a) there is no blindstamp, and b) book still bears sticker of its (nonresale) trade shop of origin). Hardcover. 8vo. Blue cloth binding. 429 pp. Very good condition. Gift inscription in ink on front free endpaper; no other markings. Light wear to textblock edges. (Apparently price-clipped) dust jacket is a bit chipped at forecorners and spinetips, hosts aforementioned bookstore sticker on lower front flap.
