Stuart N. Lake - Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshall
New York: Houghton Mifflin, 1931. First edition, second state (with "Belly on p. 54). Hardcover. 8vo. Vermillion cloth binding. 391 pp. Good condiiton. Scuffing along edges of covers, joints. Former owner's name, circumstances of his acquiring book jotted on front pastedown page. Presumably stolen from the Birdcage Theatre Museum in Tombstone, Arizona as stamped on front free endpaper. No dust jacket on this bad boy but fret not: in the wild wild west such frippery is severely uncouth. This is the book responsible for the Wyatt Earp mythology and for a lot of Western outlaw stereotypology in general.
