Macmillan, 1950. Hardcover. 8vo. First edition, sixth printing. 154 pp. Illustrated by Pauline Baynes. Good condition. Small numeral '2' in ink on lower textblock edge near spine, smudging to rear free endpaper. No other markings. Clean text. Price-clipped dust jacket is somewhat unprepossessing: it is chipped along periphery, has open tears at front forecorners and head of spine, and is rubbed along joints. (Unconventionally, Macmillan printed the price for the Narnia books on the lower portion of the front jacket flap.)
