Illustrated. 31 black and white plate photographic presentation--Walker Evan's iconic dust bowl photographs-- preceeding 471 pp. of essays by Agee. Good hardcover. Clean boards. No markings to pages. Dust jacket has a bit of edge-wear, a single small open tear along lower rear inside edge, and a small patch of surface excoriation near the center of the jacket's front cover. The orange coloring is somewhat faded along the jacket spine, an unhappy circumstance which for this title would appear to be universal.
Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, now widely acclaimed as a landmark in photojournalism literature, was disregarded completely upon first publication. The publisher remaindered much of the already small initial print run, so that the first edition comprises a mere six hundred or so copies.
