Isaac Bashevis Singer - The Family Moskat
Knopf, 1950. Hardcover. 8vo. 1/4 red cloth binding. 611 pp. Translated from Yiddish by A. H. Gross. Good condition. Slight rubbing to sides, forecorners of boards. Small stain along textblock fore-edge. Used bookstore price, small note about edition on flyleaf in pencil; no other markings. Dust jacket is chipped along periphery, has a small open tear along upper front edge--still quite bright. The aforementioned bookseller note denominates this book a first edition, but I'm not sure. It's possibly a trade edition that's been married to a book-club-edition dust jacket (no price on flap) or was issued by an obscure book club. There is no blind stamp on boards. In any case, it's a perfectly respectable copy of Singer's very first book.
