William Saroyan - The Bicycle Rider in Beverly Hills
New York: Charles Scribner, 1952. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. 8vo. 178 pp. Green cloth binding. Signed by author William S--wait, nevermind; I guess it's signed by former owner William S. Barker. Why do that Mr. Barker? Why prank us like that? At any rate, book is in very good condition--immaculate aside from the aforementioned monkey scribbles by non-author William S. Whoever (though I guess he could be famous in his own right and that would make this a precious association copy... but I'll let you do that research.) Slight edge-wear to still very beautiful and bright dust jacket.
I'm guessing the titular rider is William Saroyan, who probably pawned the bicycle for 4$ in the Tropicana casino parking lot later that day to cover his Keno spread.
