New York: Macmillan, 1920. First American edition, first printing. Hardcover. 8vo. Red cloth binding with red titular lettering. Edited by Ernest Barker, Ray Lankester, H. H. Johnson, Gilbert Murray. Illustrated by J. F. Horrabin. xviii, 648 pp. and x, 676 pp. respectively. Good condition. Both volumes evince minor scuffing to boards; volume I is marred by a 4mm closed tear at the head of the spine. Christmas gift inscription in pencil on front endpapers of both volumes, though each is otherwise clean. No dust jackets present.
