Doubleday, 1957. Hardcover. 8vo. First edition, later printing (1958). 544 pp. Grey cloth binding. Good condition. Rubbing to boards along edges, spine surface. Five small dark blotting stains along lower text-blot edge (approximately 1mm in size). Light wear to textblock fore-edge. Clean pages. Price-clipped dust jacket is chipped at both ends of the spine and a bit rubbed at forecorners and joints (see photo). It also has the "Pulitzer Prize Winner" sticker that the publisher slapped onto all later printings of the book (It did, in fact, win the pulitzer prize.
