Dust jacket is in good condition, is missing a chunk along the head of the spine, chipped at forecorners and is stained along upper front edge (see photos). The Affluent Society is a critical appraisal of American society in the nineteen-fifties (when it was at perhaps its industrial apogee) by a leading economist. The country is criticized as much for its failure to best the Soviets in the space-race as it is for its materialistic impulses.
