Houghton Mifflin, 1948. 8vo. Hardcover. 503 pp. First edition, first printing. Good condition. Light wear to cloth boards along lower edge. Small (1mm) stain along lower textblock fore-edge, small foxing outline on flyleaf (1cm). No other markings. Dust jacket is likewise in good condition with chipping along periphery--especially at spine tips and on upper edge near front forecorner--and some rubbing along joints and two spots on the spine (see photo). Like Douglas' earlier book The Robe, The Big Fisherman is an historical novel set in ancient Judea, but the focus this time is on Jesus' apostle Peter.
